Abstract

Multi-cloud computing has emerged as a foundational strategy for modern enterprise digital transformation, enabling organizations to leverage multiple cloud service providers to enhance scalability, resilience, performance, and cost optimization. As enterprises increasingly adopt cloud-native architectures, the need for efficient multi-cloud orchestration and migration strategies becomes critical to ensure seamless workload distribution and interoperability across heterogeneous environments. Major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform play a significant role in shaping enterprise cloud ecosystems. However, managing workloads across multiple clouds introduces challenges including data consistency, latency optimization, security governance, vendor lock-in avoidance, and operational complexity. Multi-cloud orchestration frameworks address these challenges by providing unified control planes, automated deployment pipelines, and policy-driven resource management. Migration strategies such as lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and cloud-native refactoring are widely adopted to modernize legacy systems. This study explores architectural frameworks, orchestration mechanisms, and migration methodologies used in multi-cloud environments. It also analyzes enterprise adoption challenges and proposes a structured research methodology for evaluating migration efficiency and orchestration effectiveness. The findings highlight that successful multi-cloud strategies significantly enhance digital transformation outcomes by improving agility, resilience, and business continuity while reducing dependency on single-cloud ecosystems
